Welllllll
Welllllllllllll
Wellllllllllllllllllll......
Here we are. Again.
Nobody knows what’s going on.
The world is ending.
OUR PETS HEADS ARE FALLING OFF.
I need a change.
Some gosh darn wins.
And that wouldn’t come tonight, although that top of the 1st sure looked promising.
After a 50 minute rain delay, Nick Pivetta took the mound and served up a couple of taters to Goldy (solo shot on a hanging breaking pitch) and Swags (two run blast to RF after Deez was HBP) for a 3-0 Cards lead.
But that’s literally all the offense would do, unless you care about two meaningless singles.
Uncle Charlie was up to par tonight, that is, excluding the 3rd and 4th inning when the Phils did their dirty deeds.
Harper delivered a two run double to RF in the 3rd to score Pivetta and McCutchen after a wild pitch moved them up 90 feet.
Realmuto and Hernández delivered what would be the final blow to the Cards in the bottom of the 4th. Realmuto reached base with a leadoff single and Hernández crushed a moon shot off the facade of the second deck in RF, giving the Phillies a 4-3 lead. Hernández got a fat sinker at 89mph right down the pipe and waxed it.
Neither team decided to hit or score after that.
Prospect #5 in Kyle's "Dirty Thirty-Five" Génesis Cabrera* will be making his major league debut for the Birds tomorrow, and I’m beyond excited to watch it. Opposing Cabrera will be Aaron Nola (5-0, 4.53). First pitch 6:05pm c/t.
And then LGB at 7pm!!!!!!
Anyways, I got beer to drink.
Cheers, Stew
